Hunting Food

Today I am sketching for Scavenger Hunt 529

http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1442014

I am now officially hungry.

I numbered the sketches wrong and they were just across the page from Number 1.  Sigh.
#2 food - fruit in wonky colander, where was my perspective brain?
#3 food for thought - Gene's copy of our Constitution, Declaration of Independence and Gettysburg Address
#4 can't live without - water, this bottle is so old that it is out of shape.  Been in the fridge for ages, we rarely buy bottled water so this is from months ago.  May have been in the car when we came back from New Mexico.  Not very drinkable now!  For a plant to recycle maybe?
#5 can - a pepper can.  You don't see spice cans very much now.  Mostly glass and plastic.  I have this saved on a shelf.

Pearls Before Swine by Stephan Pastis fits this old procrastinator to a T.  I copied it here for my few readers, thanks Stephan.  We read it in our on-line paper.

You can see the cartoon on the website and read more Pearls.

I can read and look at Pearls any time, love the characters.  So don't forget to come back here.

I pour old water in either the iron or my teapot, or sometimes plants - depending on who was drinking from the bottle.

That cartoon is me.

Ha, Lou...I don't iron so that doesn't help, don't drink tea either so the plants it is. Ha.

The cartoon is for us, members of the Procrastinators Club (sisters - almost)

Hi Jo, stopped in for a quick visit and as usual got carried away! Love, love, love the boot sketches - I have boots from line dance days - don't wear them but always intend to use them in still life paintings (probably won't but the idea keeps me from letting them go!) How interesting the spurs survived the fire but are now black! That you sketch on your phone also inspires me - I have apps on my iPad and have played with them a little.

Sounds like yours and Gene's new year is off to a super start! btw - have never had fried brussel sprouts but know I would like them. Fried okra - yum! What a great example you set sketching every day!!! Thanks for sharing!

Rosemary, thank you so much. Fun to "see" you. Interesting on the spurs, they had brass trim and that melted, but the iron survived, really hard to clean up. Digital sketching is fun, but takes more time for lazy me! We try to stay busy, the brussels sprouts surprised me almost like roasted with no batter.
And I sketch most days and like it. Sometimes like all things it feels too much like homework. Hopefully it will finally get me painting again.
Your awards were wonderful, I will link to your blog next post!
Hugs.
