The Bastrop Sketchers met at the library yesterday due to inclement weather. It was cool, in the high 30s and wet. Even though we were meeting inside, only three of us showed up. There has been lots of the flu and colds going around which may contribute to that as well.
We had a good time.
My choices of things to sketch fit into Scavenger Hunt 529, of course.

Number 6, tree- a sculpture outside of the library. It has something to do with before and after the fire, with helping hands or some such. I was going to read the plaque and take a photo but forgot in the cold!
Number 7, shrub - near the door to the library. A little puny but still have leaves surviving our "hard" winter.
Number 8, book - well, a few
Number 9, newspaper - an actual newspaper. At home we read on-line.
The library has some interesting architecture inside, I should have thought of that, too.
Joan and I went to lunch at the Main Street Cafe afterwards. They
have changed the place around a bit and the menu, too. They don't have
tuna salad anymore which was my favorite. They serve breakfast all
day. I had a sausage/shrimp gumbo. Very good.
Jennifer Rose, artist that comments here on my blog, has made an animated story about her dog. Check it out on her blog here: http://fuzzydragons.blogspot.com/2018/02/pirate-puppy.html
Very cute and fun.
Our HEB, Texas grocery chain, has a new item in the deli. It is a half sandwich on a croissant with a nice fresh salad. It is in a container divided in half. I got one turkey and one ham (thinking they were both ham). They were good and just the right size for lunch or light dinner. We did add salad dressing and some mayo to the sandwich. $4 each. A good price, too. We are lucky to have such a great store.
Off to work on Income Tax.........
I am an artist that paints in pastels, with some oils, and acrylics. I sketch in pen and ink. As an artist my original paintings are influenced from living in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Bolivia, Peru and Chile, and travels throughout much of Canada and all our fifty States. This is my spot for posting paintings and sketches, to muse mostly about art, life and a little about UT Baseball.

thanks for the shout out :D
good luck with your income tax :)
Just catching up on a few of your posts. Time seems to be disappearing quickly lately. I have too many evening meetings that are slowing down my sketch time. lol Glad you got out to the library and found some items that fit the hunt.
Jennifer Rose, thanks. I might actually get them done on time this year. I've had to get an extension the last couple of years. My procrastinating gets in the way!
Joan, thanks for taking the time. Meetings slow everything down. I've quit being an active member in my art groups.
Jennifer Rose, the video is so cute and your work is amazing on the 3-D dragons.
thanks again Jo :) (did you get your taxes done? ;) )
Jennifer Rose, you are most welcome. And .... no, I did not get much done on the taxes.
