Turtle Sprayer Sketch

It has been open doors and open windows for two days.  Lovely!!!  We walked around the lake but we didn't take phones or other cameras.  Saw a very big egret, too.

I sketched out in the back in the big sketchbook with a Micron 01.

Number 3, sprayer - the turtle sprayer for the lawn
Number 4, spiraling - the hose (it is one of those coiled ones like an old phone cord but I had it stretched out so the water would go mostly on the grass)

The turtle was stuck in the mud in one of the flower beds when we got here, so he is still at home. It can make about a 12 foot diameter circle of spray with the pressure here.  I had it way low.   He is a turquoise color .. may be copper and turned greenish. It is about 10 inches in length.  I should investigate that more.

We've been getting such amazing weather lately as well. Wonderful sketch, Jo. I've seen beautiful egrets by my pond...unfortunately they ate a few of my gorgeous koi's...so I'm not loving these guys...lol

Cute way to water! Glad you had a nice enough day for open windows. Today was the first day that has been cool up here. Maybe fall is arriving. lol

hmuxo, thanks. They say it is ok to scare the birds off. They do eat bugs, gophers, snakes, etc., too. We stayed at a resort in Montana for an art week and they had 3 big herons that cleared their pond of fish if they were too big to eat, they just left them to die. No fish for the fishermen....

Joan, the sprayer is very cute, thanks. We rarely water anything. We have xeriscape by default. Ha. When it rains we have grass, when it is dry we have dandelions. Interesting.

never fails, always things to take photos of when you dont have your camera

so some one left the turtle behind, well at least it works unlike most stuff that gets left behind :)

Jennifer Rose, so true. Gene usually has his phone, but not then. Smile.

The turtle is very cute, amazing it works, as you say.

I like the turtle water-er. Toby bought a tractor water-er for his big garden. It is supposed to roll down the garden bed spraying out water. But it sometimes gets stuck and then waters the heck out of one spot. So you have to keep an eye on it, which defeats the purpose of having it.

Thanks, Bag Blog. Automatic is not always so auto! Right. Sometimes timers help to check, but then we don't hear the timers. Ha.
