Dedication is needed to be a loyal baseball fan. The season runs until June. A long time and many hours of travel and watching the guys. If I had any sense, I would spend just as much time and dedication toward my art. That is what it takes to make good artwork. Looking back, 2009 and 2010 were the years of 50 paintings a year or so. Not all were put in frames, but the work is as important as the results.
Creating is easier when you have a routine, a dedicated space to work and commitment to the cause. I see that, but am not practicing what I preach. Hopefully you will take heed and get in front of the easel, paper, clay or medium that you enjoy. Or, try a new one!
I did manage a sketch in the big book with the Micron 05 for Scavenger Hunt 485

Number 8, shoe - hiking shoe. I don't have a great use for them, but nice to wear when you are out plein air painting in the wild to avoid stickers and snakes. :-)
Number 9, piece of clothing - Longhorn t-shirt
The Longhorns lost their first game last night to the Rice Owls, 3-2. The Owls coach, Wayne Graham, has been their coach for years. He played his college ball at The University of Texas. The Longhorns have a new coach this year .. we will see how it goes in the old versus the new.
Hook 'em Horns!!
I am an artist that paints in pastels, with some oils, and acrylics. I sketch in pen and ink. As an artist my original paintings are influenced from living in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Bolivia, Peru and Chile, and travels throughout much of Canada and all our fifty States. This is my spot for posting paintings and sketches, to muse mostly about art, life and a little about UT Baseball.

It was an okay game. I sure wish the Horns had won. I visited with Forest and Jo for the first half of the game or so. They send their best.
Joanna, Whew, they did pull off the double header yesterday. Pitching looks pretty good. Three errors in the first game yesterday. Yikes! But I think the umps had errors, too. Start of the season jitters???
I would probably go watch a game rather than paint. In fact there are lots of things I do rather than paint. But I'm trying to do mas pastels when I'm home alone.
I never had any reason to own hiking boots. I'm a walker, not a hiker, but they are good for a sketch. I like the t-shirt too. Enjoy the season. My husband was telling me that the Yankees have their first pre-season game this Friday. I'll have to get ready to hear him complain about them. lol
Bag Blog, that is a problem with us procrastinators!! Hope your painting muse keeps in tune!
Joan, funny. I root against the Yankees, they were my brother's favorites. My mom and dad liked the Dodgers and St. Louis, so those have been my teams now. My son is the dreaded Cubs fan. Our Longhorns went 2 for 2 for the weekend. Not too bad to start. New coach and lots of freshmen, so we will see. Thanks!
