Hunting Trash Sketch and Photo

Sketching was accomplished on the porch yesterday morning.  I sketched in the big book with a Pilot ball point pen.  I really like those pens but it leaked a bit, very unusual. It was just enough to get some on my little finger and drag onto the trash sketch.

Number 9, trash - a pile of limbs from the yard
Number 10, tree - this little pine is growing in between about 3 big trees by Gene's storage sheds.  It doesn't have room to branch out and get beautiful.  It is about 20 feet tall.
Number 11, trunk - the big tree next to it, sixty foot tall, maybe?

It was President Lincoln's birthday and we all went to Austin to celebrate Larry's birthday which had been on February 6 (Ronald Reagan's birthday)  We went to Top Golf and hit some balls and had some beverages.  First time to do that, it is a fun place.  We hadn't hit a golf ball for several years.  I still hit pretty straight, but not far. Larry and Brandon hit a mile.  Gene did OK, he has no strength in his left side so doesn't hit far.  Joanna and Jennie hit a few each.  Guess we might take golf clubs on our next trip!

Then to Mimi's Cafe for early dinner.  That was good as well.

Gene's little Veto was introduced to the grand dogs.  Hopefully someone took a photo of Chewie, he wanted to play with Veto and barked at him.  All in all, a great day!

Larry and Joanna took some photos for our passport renewals.  We might need them, you never know!

A different view of the lake from our walk this morning.  It is a beautiful day.  You can see how dry the winter brush is.  The ground is pretty wet still but with the undergrowth being so dry, fire danger is extremely high!  Keep your butts in an ashtray!

I watched a bit of McKinley video the other day, but I decided to go back and watch the underpainting video first. It was really good, but long. I stopped it and went to take a nap. Hmm, it was not maybe as inspirational as I thought :) Now I hope to get some sort of painting done today. It is raining and a bit cold.
