It is a beautiful day today, springlike. I sketched indoors, though, in the big book with a Micron 05. Quickly and freehand, like most times.
Number 4, comes in a bag - chocolate chip cookies
Number 5, comes in a box - gluten free macaroni elbows
Number 6, comes in a can - green chiles from Hatch, New Mexico ... yummy!
Gene spent a good part of yesterday and today moving our mailbox from the side of the house to the front driveway. It is not an easy job. It is made of iron, his brother made it for us quite a few years ago. It is set in concrete. I'm not quite sure how he managed on his own, but with the help of the Expedition to drag it over, he got 'er done!
This will be a busy weekend for us. The University of Texas Longhorn Baseball season gets underway tomorrow evening. There will be a four game series against Rice. Always a good game against the Owls. You can check the schedule at http://www.texassports.com/schedule.aspx?path=baseball There is a new coach, David Pierce. The style of play should be quite different and we look forward to a winning season! Hook 'em Horns!
I am an artist that paints in pastels, with some oils, and acrylics. I sketch in pen and ink. As an artist my original paintings are influenced from living in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Bolivia, Peru and Chile, and travels throughout much of Canada and all our fifty States. This is my spot for posting paintings and sketches, to muse mostly about art, life and a little about UT Baseball.

Baseball is a sign that spring is in the air. I went with Jesse to a high school game last Friday. We were only able to stay one inning since Jesse got a text from a guy friend needing a date for some event after another girl/friend had backed out at the last minute. Anyway, I loved watching the game, although Jesse's school was getting beat already. But it was an early game - maybe they will improve. Maybe I will get to see other games.
Bag Blog, exciting baseball and another reason to not paint! Hope the date was a good one! Maybe we will come up for the OK State games.
Was a nice day here too, blue skies and about 9 celsius, so maybe spring is in the air
good thing Gene didn't hurt himself, looks like a pretty hefty thing to move
Jennifer Rose, it had been moved from the burnded house where it had been moved from the street to the drive, those times with help from our son and son-in-law. Luckily here Gene could drag it with the car and dig easily in the sand to put it in. Plus it had rained so the ground was softer. He was pleased that he could do it alone!
its something to be pleased with, even with soft ground and a car to help, looks like big job
:-) Thanks, Jennifer.
Good on Dad!
Joanna, he did a good job. Much better there.
