A bit of sketching day before yesterday in the big book and yesterday in the travel sketchbook. With a Micron 03 and 05 respectively. For Scavenger Hunt 471 http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1414893
Number 3, bigger than a breadbox - the roll top desk. The top of it looks sort of like an old breadbox my Aunt May had with the roll up door.
Number 4, animal - the three bronze sculptures of a dog and 2 horses.
Number 5, ceramic - Gene's mug
Number 6, glass - a small individual size Pyrex casserole
Number 7, something you never sketched before - dinner at Guadalajara http://www.guadalajaramexicanbastrop.com/ , well, appetizers and drinks. My wine glass is small or Gene's beer is huge.
Number 8, new - the new booths at the restaurant. Beautiful and hand carved.
Our mornings have been so lovely, about 60 degrees F.
Toward the sun and away from the sun, just off the porch.
Hey if anyone is across the pond and near Birmingham, London, Glasgow and many more spots you need to go see Carrie Rodriguez. She puts on a super show. The rest of us have to wait until she is back in the Austin area.

I am an artist that paints in pastels, with some oils, and acrylics. I sketch in pen and ink. As an artist my original paintings are influenced from living in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Bolivia, Peru and Chile, and travels throughout much of Canada and all our fifty States. This is my spot for posting paintings and sketches, to muse mostly about art, life and a little about UT Baseball.

the sketch of your dinner is great :D nice slice out of your life :)
Jennifer Rose, thanks. I sketched the easy part, ha.
Your sketch of dinner at Guadalajara reminded me of eating breakfast in Austin a couple of weeks ago. Toby and Jesse and I got up early before the wedding and wanted to have a great Mexican breakfast. My brother had sent us to a place called Habenero on Oltorf last time we were in Austin, and it was pretty good. But this trip, we opted for Magnolia's because we wanted pancakes along with our Mexican - kind of Tex-Mex. Magnolia's is usually pretty good, but this time we were a little disappointed. It didn't seem authentic Mexican food - too much Tex and not enough Mex. Boy are we picky.
Bag Blog, you deserve to be picky! We eat at the Texican in Austin as they have New Mexico style enchiladas with an egg on top. We aren't as fond of Tex-Mex although I like migas for breakfast. My friend, T, and I ate at Maudie's in Austin the other day. Pretty good. It is a restaurant that has been around a while, too. We ate in a new location at the Triangle near 51st and Lamar.
