Sketches to Start Hunt 443

We are not fully recovered so decided to sketch a bit and let my mind rest from the deep stuff I have  been watching on TV.  Ha.  I sketched on my footstool in the big sketchbook with a Micron 05 that is about out of ink.  I start to throw it away and it perks up a bit.  I must change the angle on the nib and a bit more ink dribbles out.

Number 1, level - Gene has a pen with a level, ruler, and stylus all in one.  Pretty cool!
Number 2, doorway, view in or out - view from my chair in the living room into my studio.
Number 3, flower - the same old geranium, my only flower.  Surprised it is still blooming with the yellow gunk on it.  I need to wash it and bring it in the house from the porch.
Number 4, evergreen - some of the pine trees toward the westerly lake/pond.
Number 5, phone - one of the bluetooth handsets we use.  My phone barely gets a signal and it is best on the kitchen counter so we bought the bluetooth phones and have one in the bedroom, kitchen and my studio.  We can also use them like walkie talkies.  They are good to use in Gene's shop or on the porch.  My phone then stays still on the counter so I can actually talk on it and get calls.  That is what comes from living in the boonies.

I will post a few photos from our trip....

Between Bastrop and Austin is Hit The Spot Cafe.  It is in the building with the library in Garfield, Texas.  They have a great breakfast, but good food in general.

This was the Pedernales River near Bee Caves in 2012.

This is off the same bridge on our way to New Mexico last week.  Yay for rain!

A ranch in the hill country, probably between Marble Falls and Brady.  Beautiful country.  The wildflowers weren't out in full force on the way.  I did see some on our return trip, but we were not up to par so didn't stop for photos.

And the first sunset in New Mexico as we were coming in to Roswell.  No, that is not a space station or space ship, just some oil storage tanks and clouds.  :-)  Again, we stayed the night there and saw no aliens.

More trip photos to follow.......

Jennifer Rose, We were in a terrible drought at that time. The river and Lake Travis are almost back to normal. Takes much, much rain!

Bag Blog, we have 3 tiny bluebonnets in the yard. Will get you some photos when we venture out. :)
