Hunting Games (Sketches)

The Hunt was on here for Scavenger Hunt 445.  http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1402094  We don't have any board games any more.  I did find a little game in a tube called LCR, Left, Right, Center.

We had collected many, many board games from the years of our children and grand children.    Monopoly, Candy Land, Trivial Pursuit and so many more were included in the collection.   They were mostly under the house in storage.  I imagine some of them might have been collectors items in the original boxes that were still in great shape after years of playing.  All lost in the fire.  Oh well, no one to play with me.  Gene doesn't like games.  We can get him to play Hearts once in a long while.  He played in college I guess.

Number 1, seedpod (cone, acorn, etc.) - pine cones from the yard
Number 2, game piece - the die from the LCR game.
Number 3, part of a game board - none here so substituted a deck of cards

This is in the huge sketchbook, about the middle 2/3 of the page.  A long way to go in that as well.

Baseball tonight ..  I hope the kept a bit of the momentum from their wins last week.  Hook 'em Horns!

Tuesday night is non conference play.  The Longhorns play  the Lamar Cardinals from Beaumont, Texas.  The university is part of the Texas State Family.  Their coach, Jim Gilligan, has been around since the 60s as a player, then coach.  He announced his retirement at the end of this season.

Nice texture on your pinecones. I don't think I have any games or game pieces around anywhere. There once was a backgammon set, but I don't remember seeing it since we moved here 10 years ago. lol

I like the pine cones!

Was the retirement announced at the end of last season or the beginning of this one? Regardless, good win for them. Bad loss for us.

Thank you, Joanna. I never noticed how symmetrical they are until I sketched them the first time.

I think he retired at the first of the school year in September. Bill Little said last night that he wasn't rooting against the Horns, but it would be nice if the Cardinals won for their coach on his last visit to the Disch. Maybe it is Bill's fault. Ha. Their record was something like 38-7 against the Horns. Sigh......

Joan, thank you. You are in the same boat as me with games. I like to play, Gene doesn't so I play on the computer against the computer. I don't play on-line.

Monopoly- the game that felt like it would never end and usually ended up with someone kicking all the little houses off the board...;p

nice texture on the pine cone :)

Jennifer Rose, I never cared much for Monopoly, the on and on part. It didn't have an end usually and everyone quit. Don't remember kicking anything. Ha, ha.

The pinecones are good. We have a few board games. At Thanksgiving we played Clue with my nephew and his boys. They had bought the game at Goodwill. It was so fun, we bought a game ourselves.

Bag Blog, ah, we liked Clue a lot. I liked Colonel Mustard and the conservitory. Played many, many times. Thank you on the pine cones.
