Hunting During Rain and Photos Old and New

I sketched on Friday and Saturday while watching the TV (when we had signals) about the flooding. All of our family are high and dry.  Larry traveled to Glen Rose, Texas, for a photo shoot of some race.  He made it safely on Friday night during the rains.  Yikes!  He lives in San Marcos and even the Interstate was underwater there.

We are thankful for the rain, but hard when it comes all at once.  There is a lot of damage in the central Texas area and beyond.  It filled our lakes and there is a stream running in the east side lake then overflowing into the west side lake.  You can hear the "babbling brook" from the back porch.

We can't walk around the lakes at the moment.  This part of the path is over run on the west side.  The overflow is on the let at the end of the dam and big trees.

This is our path between the lakes where we usually walk and the "brook" there.  Too wide to step across, ha!

If you do facebook or twitter there are many photos of the flooding in Austin, San Marcos and here.  The Colorado River over flows here in Bastrop when there is flooding elsewhere.  It went on through and there were more evacuations downriver from here.  You can google photos as well.  So sad, 6 lives lost between Austin and Houston from the storms.  Good news, the fires are out.

I didn't sketch much for Hunt 426.  http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1391217  I finished one page in the large sketchbook with the Prismacolor 01.  Here goes:

Number 1, something you eat from - palm of my hand
Number 2, something you eat with - my fingers  (You would never recognize my hand or that both sketches are the same old left hand...sigh)
Number 3, something you drink from - a glass from Mexico with the blue swirls on it.
Number 4, something you cook with - my old standby electric skillet, I use it almost every time I cook.

We are having company on Tuesday, Honeybee Maids http://honeybeemaids.com/ come tomorrow, still getting our kitchen back together after mold invasion from dishwasher leak.  Gene did get in the new dishwasher and it works very well!  So not too much sketching or painting time.  I am working on a commission which I will discuss later.  Toodleoo.........

Jennifer Rose, thanks. Some people do not make good choices and I can never understand why they rebuild in the flood zones again. Sad.

I don't get that either. Why people knowingly spend money on a house that is in a known flood area, I will never understand. Its too big of a gamble for me
