Sharon's Blooms
Pastel on Pastelbord
7 x 5 inches
I sketched one page of sketches in the large sketchbook over the last couple of days. Just quick ones to have something to post on Scavenger Hunt 423. I used the Prismacolor fine line marker/pen 01.
Number 10, pan
Number 11, cup - measuring cup
Number 12, kitchen tool - rolling pin
Number 13, portrait - me, I look disgusted with the whole thing, right?
Number 14, statue - a little mud sculpture from Bolivia, fat for a llama
Number 15, action figure - the jockey in bronze on Second Effort, race horse
I walked a couple of times during the week. Usually with Gene, but he decided to ride his trike so I walked around the lake by myself. It is almost a mile which is about right for my walks.
The lake to the left as you look out our back door. Pretty colors, but the orange trees are the pines that died from too much water when the lakes filled up.
Gene across the highway on the right side lake, far side from the house.
Another of Gene waving. He usually doesn't ride on the highway but wanted to wave at me. Not a good place to ride, no shoulder. You can see that we need some rain on our grass!

Just gorgeous cactus blossoms!!! What a wonderful gift.
Joan, thank you! It was fun to paint for a change.
gorgeous cactus :D such a lovely yellow :)
and yeah you don't look that impressed in your drawing ;)
The pear cactus blossoms are really nice. So great that you painted. I haven't done anything lately other than things for school. Actually I have done lots with the kids, but nothing for myself. Maybe over fall break....
Sharon loved the painting so a huge success in the gift department. Thanks, Mom!
I agree that it's very pretty!
The photos of Dad are fun. :-)
Also: love the self-portrait! :-)
Jennifer Rose, thank you. I like yellow, purple and turquoise together! Self portraits usually look serious but this looks just like you said....
Bag Blog, thank you so much. That isn't much painting, need to finish unpacking! Hope you get to paint. I like the courtyard from this summer that you painted with pastels in Taos.
Joanna, thanks for the notice from Sharon. Your unsentimental dad had to ride around to say, "Hi!" Happy you like the painting and sketch. :)
