Watercolor Sketch for Hunt 400

Can you believe it is a new Scavenger Hunt  http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1376595  and it is number 400?  Wow.  Years of sketching, we started in the summer of 2006 as I recall.

I sketched out in the yard.   I sketched in a watercolor sketchbook that is 7 x 10 inches with watercolors in a small kit with a waterbrush and a Micron 05 for the ink part.

Number 1, trunk - tree trunks
Number 2, texture - the malpais (lava) rock from New Mexico and the grasses

It is a great day and will be up to 80˚ or so.  It is a great day which is nice for the baseball game tonight.  Our slumpy Longhorns have lost their last seven games.  Yikes!  They have several all American players this year and did super the first part of the season.  They had more runs in one game than they have had in the last seven.  Oh well, we will go root for them and hope they get their "team" act together so they can go to a regional and maybe the College World Series.  They pulled it off last year, hope they can do it again.  They play Wichita State here tonight for the first time here.  The last time we played the Shockers was in 1993 in the CWS and the Horns lost.  :(   Hook 'em Horns!

The watercolor seems to have worked well for you on your sketch. A little color is always fun.

It turned warm here with temps in the 80s. It is so odd that it can go from highs in the 50's one day to the 80's the next - from the heater to the air conditioner. Enjoy your baseball games.

Bag Blog, I seem to be able to use watercolor on a small sketch any larger and I get lost.

The weather has been so strange. Maybe I just notice it more now??

The Horns finally won a game. They beat Wichita State 6 - 4. Too close for comfort!
