Plein Air Painting with Bag Blog, Sketch and Photos

Bag Blog http://bagwag.blogspot.com/, Lou, and her husband, Toby, were here for the weekend.  (More in previous post, scroll down)  We had a great time.  It is sooooo quiet here now.

On Saturday we went to Eagle Nest for breakfast to Country Corner.  Pretty good. After,  Lou and I went to paint at Monte Verde Lake and the guys rode bicycles, well a Terratrike in Gene's case.

We packed up our plein air gear and headed around to the lake ... maybe half a mile.  The day was really nice and the lake is always beautiful.

Lou was painting toward the dock.

I painted across the lake.  This is 12 x 18 inches and I didn't have time to finish.

Across the lake, a dog going for a ride.

View toward the dock.

Gene and Toby came by and we forgot to get them to take photos and I took very few.  That is pretty normal for me, right?

Sunday we had breakfast at home.  Toby and Lou bought some green chile to take back to Oklahoma so we had to try it out with some sausage, bacon, potatoes and tortillas.  Yummy.

We decided to paint across the road from our house and try our plein air skills at painting rocks and trees.  It was another beautiful day.

The two of us with our paintings.

Me with my set up and Lou's painting to the right.

My set up minus the umbrella.  I was mostly in the shade.

Lou and her French easel.

The bikers and photographers of us and our work.

It is always good to see them and fun to paint with a good friend.  Thank you guys for coming to see us in Angel Fire!!

After they left today, I sat on the porch and was working on a puzzle.  A doe with her fawn stopped for a bit across the road.  I didn't have time to go get my sketchbook so I sketched quickly on the iPad with Brushes and my fingers.

For Scavenger Hunt 372 http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1358731, Number 3 - animal

I'm using the painting of the rocks for Number 4, outside and the lake view above at the lake for Number 5 - landscape.

Later, I put out some peaches that were bad for the birds and squirrels.  This fellow caught my eye.

A neighborhood ground squirrel as he saw me he turned loose of the peach in preparation to run.

Tomorrow is Gene's birthday.  He will try his birthday ride, he tries to ride his age or more.  In the past you may remember he would ride his age and up to 100 miles so that as he gets older he will have miles in the bank and not have to ride 80 miles when he is 80.  We will see how far he goes and how many miles he might have to take out of the bank!  Happy Birthday, Gene!

Thanks, Joan. It is inspiring to be around other artists. If you can paint together, even better. Smile.

I must put Joan's comment in. I hit delete on the comment instead of the e-mail after I posted it, so
Blogger deleted it. Here you go:

Joan Tavolott has left a new comment on your post "Plein Air Painting with Bag Blog, Sketch and Photo...":

Getting out en plein air is always fun...especially with company. Nice work on the rocks and foliage.

Jennifer Rose, thanks from so far away! It was a nice quiet day at the lake. They were having fly fishing lessons but off in the background. Beautiful weather and a good place to paint and relax. I need to check out your blog now. Thanks again.
