Sketching Update

It looks like I didn't post and update my blog for a while.  I sketched for the Scavenger Hunt 356 way back on April 17.    These sketches are in my large sketchbook about 1/3 page for each day.  I sketched the first with a Micron 05 and the second with a Prismacolor Premier 03.  You can see the difference in the pen size from the thicker strokes in the first of the sketches.

Number 1, to do with planting - bluebonnet seeds (too late to plant now, need to plant them in the fall)
Number 2, watering can - don't have one so the plastic cup is it!
Number 3, round - my coffee cup lid, which is really round, not like my sketch.

Number 4, from the yard - the round iron pan and milk box full of junk from the fire.
Number 5, outdoor bench - the tree stump

I was looking through my photos for reference for a painting and found this meal.  When Christy and Nick got married last summer they asked for a gluten free meal for me.  This was my meal.  It was almost too pretty to consume.  Very nice presentation and so good to eat!

And a couple of art links if you don't already have them in your reader:

No. 5 on "Leaving an Are Event Behind" was the kicker for me. When I dreaded the people and the hassle, it was time to move on.

Good links! Thanks.

Bag Blog, I don't do outdoor shows, well any shows anymore, but I know how guilty I felt to say no and we shouldn't feel that way.

I have followed along with Jeanette for many years now and hope to go to NF and meet her one of these days. Very ambitious painter, sketcher and worker.

Ah. The coffee cup lid made me smile. Of course. :-)

Joanna, Bag Blog's daughter, Jessie, made that cup and lid. They both are nicely round! The lid works really well on my cups that go with my dishes, too.
