Another weird weather situation, right? It is quite a winter for us. Gene and I were out on the porch this morning. It was a muggy 70 degrees about 8:00 a.m. We were having coffee, Gene was reading the paper and I was sketching on my iPad. About 9:30 a.m. a breeze/wind came up from the south and in minutes the temperature dropped to about 55. By noon it was 42. It is now (at about 3:30 p.m.) 41.5 and not getting any warmer today. I'm sure east and north of us it is much worse but the normal for now is about 55 or 60 in the daytime. Brrrrr.
I finished up the sketches in the house. I used the Brushes program and my fingers. Probably about 20 minutes each.
Number 1, red - my iPad cover and my sleeves. My "drawing finger" looks so big and when I am trying to get a fine line I feel like it is that big, too. :)
Number 2, green - coffee cup and Number 3, white - the napkin which in my drawing had to be a bit gray as I had the white background.
Gene is finishing the framing for the show on Friday. We will hang the show tomorrow at the Bastrop Art Gallery. I still think of it as the Bastrop Fine Arts Guild Gallery. They changed the name sometime back, I guess it was too cumbersome to say quickly. Heh, heh.
I am an artist that paints in pastels, with some oils, and acrylics. I sketch in pen and ink. As an artist my original paintings are influenced from living in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Bolivia, Peru and Chile, and travels throughout much of Canada and all our fifty States. This is my spot for posting paintings and sketches, to muse mostly about art, life and a little about UT Baseball.

Saturday was overcast and wet with just a breeze of cool air. Jesse went to Ft. Worth (see her blog) and it was a beautiful day there. Then Sunday it rained, sleeted, hailed, snowed, thundered, and temps dropped into the teens. I stayed by the fire all day.
Hi Bag Blog, freezing today here, too. I do not like that! Ha. Have to get out and go to the Gallery, too. I will have a peek at Jesse's blog. Stay warm!
I love the M.C. Escher-ish sketch!
Joanna, that type of sketch is fun. Took your father a bit of time to figure it out. Heh, heh. Should have taken a bit more time with the sketch on the iPad part!
