Just Paint Over It

I think this is something that is so hard for artists to do.  There are times that I can do it easily, in fact I sometimes wipe off a whole painting and start over.  It is difficult when something is painted so nicely but doesn't quite fit in the picture!    The following article by Keith Bond says it well.  I put my cholla painting here because he talks about his cholla paintings.  I did not wipe off this one!  The article is a good read.

I'm glad you did not wipe the Cholla blooms, because they are beautiful. I will head over and read the article. I have several old paintings that could be wiped.

Bag Blog, thanks. Sometimes the opposite is true, too. You paint something and it just comes together all at once and is done. That happened with this little painting!

Lovely painting. Interesting article, but it is so difficult to paint over something in watercolors...although collage does help. lol
