Sketches for Hunt 338

We went to Austin yesterday for a routine check up of my cholesterol.  We try to combine trips so we went by SAM's, Hobby Lobby and lunch at Cypress Grill. http://cypressgrill.net/ We enjoy the cajun style food and seeing the art by the Creative Art Society.  http://www.creativeartssociety.org/ When I write this down, it doesn't seem like much, but it took most of the day.

I took the opportunity to sketch for Scavenger Hunt 338 while waiting in the doctors office.  I used my regular Canson 7 x 10 inch sketchbook and the Prismacolor Premier 03 fine line marker/pen.

Number 6, window - the check in/check out window.

Number 7, zipper - a couple on the side of my jeans purse.

Interesting, I took the two photos consecutively.  I used the color wand to adjust the "white".  The top one had a piece of white paper behind it and I used that which gave it a very blue tint.  The other one had no white so I used some gray in the photo near the spine of the sketchbook and it is a warmer white.  They looked the same before I adjusted them.  This may give you an idea of why it is so hard to get accurate photos of paintings.  Well, at least for me.  I will ask my expert photographer, Larry, about that.  Have a look at his great photos on his website.  http://www.larrycastillophotography.com/

Hi Joan, guess it was a form of multi-tasking. ha. Thanks for stopping by.

If you shoot in raw instead of jpg, you can do more to adjust color. :-)

Nope. I don't think your camera shoots raw. :-)
