Saturday was a busy day in Bastrop. So much going on. I went to Art Connections Gallery where I have work on display and painted out front. It started out a bit cool and gloomy. It was raining when I got there about 8:30. Then by 9:15 or so it had stopped and I set up my easel and tables. I had a 12 x 16 inch Colourfix pastel card ready to go.
I put on the watercolor under painting. It did not dry until about 12:15 or so. Alas and there I was with no hairdryer!
They also had the ceremony to thank the Veterans which was very moving with music (bagpipes, taps and choir) and speeches. There was a fly over with some small vintage planes. We were near the music stage so had nice live music entertainment by the Studebakers and part of the Chubby Knuckle Choir.

Gene was one of my visitors. |
I decided to do a small painting (5 x 7 inch) on Pastelbord while waiting for the watercolor paint to dry. My time was not wasted.

7 x 5 inches on Pastelbord
The sun came out and a good time was had by all. One miss-hap, we lost a car key. There is a reward if you happen to find it. It is about the same as the one I sketched the other day.

Looks like your town really knows how to celebrate!!!
Hi Joan, Yes it was lots of fun! Quite a good crowd turned out after the rain.
That looks like a fun day. I like your table cover - very bright. Your little painting was fun too.
Hi Bag Blog, I see I hadn't answered this. It was a good day. The table cover is from Bolivia. And, thank you about the painting. :)
I like the painting, too!
Joanna, hugs and thank you.
