Celebration Day and iPad Sketch

This is our Thanksgiving today and Jennie's birthday celebration.  It is starting out very beautifully.  The smell of pecan pies is in the air.  Yummmmmm.  Last night, I made the Crunchy Pecan Pie from the recipe in my previous post.

Our sunrise this morning!

Roses from the Mear clan.

I sketched yesterday afternoon for Scavenger Hunt 338 with "Brushes" on my iPad.  Jennie came out to help me make biscochitos for Christmas because we will be so busy then.  It took us about four hours!  I had to sketch our grand-dogs when we took a break.

Number 7, love - the two grand-dogs.

I hope you all have a great day, too.  Off to get the bird in the oven!  Brandon usually does the turkey so we are cooking it in his style.   Yesterday, Jennie brought the cajun stuff to inject into the turkey.  Here goes!!

Upon first glance, I thought your grand-dogs were the turkey.

We fried three turkeys and smoked one. We ate three of the turkeys and sent one home with my brother, and we had left overs for the next few days. Usually we inject the turkeys with some sort of Cajun or garlic butter stuff, but this year I bought jalapeno butter - it was better than the others.

I'm glad it is all over. Now for Christmas.

Bag Blog, you made me laugh. Gene thought the dog was a pig. Sigh.....

The turkey was very good, but I don't care much for the leftovers. I will recommend the jalepeno for next year. :) Once a year is plenty of bird for me. I'm ready for tamales for Christmas. Gene's brother is making ours. Yummmmmmmy.

Thanks for the note.

I knew it was Nala right off. Almost missed Romeo, though. :-)

Joanna, both grand-dogs were good that day! Nala was so calm here. Hmmmm.
