First Friday in Bastrop is very interesting and makes for a great night on the town. Art Galleries, restaurants, live music, meet the artists and start your Christmas shopping early. Argh! Did I just say that? I meant to say you can have a good time. I won’t think about Christmas Shopping until the Festival of Trees held by the Family Crisis Center, http://www.family-crisis-center.org/calendar.php, in November. Of course the artists, donors and decorators have to get started now.
Anyway, back to First Friday Art Walk, I finished my painting and it will be hanging at the Art Connections Gallery, 908 Main St., Bastrop, Texas. The phone at the gallery is 512-581-1799. Reception with music. http://artconnectionsgallerybastrop.com/ I have two other paintings there, too.

In addition, Enid Wood, http://www.enidwood.com/ , pastelist and friend I met through the Austin Pastel Society will be showing her beautiful work at her Solo Exhibition: "Water Works", RA Green Mercantile, 1022 Main St, Bastrop, TX., Friday, August 2, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., refreshments served. The show will run for the month of August. You will not be disappointed to visit with Enid and see her work. I swiped this little photo of a painting to tease you with so you would go look at her work.

Various artists will be around town at the businesses and the Bastrop Fine Arts Guild, http://www.bastropfineartsguild.com/, 815 Main Street, hosts the woodworkers. I peeked in today. They have beautiful pieces in this special exhibit. I hope you go have a look and we get to meet up in downtown historic Bastrop.
After we visit the Art Walk we will be going to La Grange, Texas, to The Bugle Boy. Lisa Morales is appearing there in the listening room. It is amazing to go and listen to music there. They have comfortable theater seating, wine, other beverages, snacks and no talking during the performances so you can actually listen to the music. Maybe we will see you there sometime. They are raffling off a 1965 Ford Thunderbird as a fundraiser. Wouldn't that be fun to win! You can purchase tickets for the shows and for the raffle on the website. http://www.thebugleboy.org/events.php?status=active
