Retractable Sketch

What does "retractable" make you think of?  That is part of the fun of sketching on the Scavenger Hunts.  The list usually consists of real items, like cup or flower, and then words that allow your imagination and memories to take over.  I immediately thought of a retractable pen but couldn't find the one I usually use, so went off to find something else and found the measuring tape.

It is interesting to see what the other artists think of.  Even with something like cup, we get so many variations  ... even a bra cup maybe??  You might think of some completely different item or idea.  We also sketch with different media.  You will see sketches in pen and ink, pencil, watercolor, oil, digital and more.
