We are in Albuquerque, an unplanned family trip to be with Gene's sister. All is well and we are happy we came. Visited with family which is always good.
Between Llano and Brady, Texas, the wildflowers were abundant. That stretch of the road is so beautiful.

Wildflowers along the road.
My zoom and functions to change settings has quit working so I was only able to take scenes near the road. There were many more beautiful sights with cactus and rocks. I can only imagine how beautiful off the highway somewhere. One of these days we will just go to see the flowers. Sigh.....

We stay in an old National Nine in Roswell, New Mexico, on the way to Albuquerque. It is old but clean and convenient. The drapery in the room was a bit over the top, eh? They have downstairs rooms with doors to the outside, a real motel. Microwave, fridge and wi-fi.
We visited with nieces and nephews and had a good dinner in Roswell at
Peppers Bar and Grill. Makes for a great stop overnight. Fun to see them together. Gene had salmon and I had a Navajo catfish. The filet was wrapped in a corn husk and grilled. Delicious. Forgot the photo. I will do it at home and then take a photo.

Contrast in scenery, near Encino, New Mexico |

This was probably a motel or cafe at one time in Encino. |
A traditional style New Mexico enchilada at
Casa de Benavidez in Albuquerque. They are known for their stuffed sopapillas. The restaurant is very good, quiet, patio, and music usually. They have a full bar. Debriana was our waitress and always remembers us. Yummy. We used to go to Sadie's more but Sadie's is crowded and noisy, so we have switched.

Great photos, Jo. Of course I love the N.M. sky one a lot. And I would love to have some cheese enchiladas right now..
Regina, thank you so much. The skies are special here. New Mexican food is different than Tex Mex but you will like it! Sopapillas , too!
Pretty pictures!
Hey, Joanna, thank you.
