I have been sketching in the morning out on the porch with my feet up and having my coffee and rice cake. It is so pleasant out there, I have no excuse for not sketching.
Scavenger Hunts keep me sketching, too. I have been sketching and posting on wetcanvas for the Hunts since 2006. Whew. I feel guilty when I don’t take part.
For Scavenger Hunt 287 I sketched in the Utrecht letter size brown paper spiral sketchbook. I used the Prismacolor Premier 08 fine marker/pen. I like sketching with a pen as I can’t erase and the lines are strong and clear. No going over and over the same area. I think it fits with the reason I like pastels as well. Fast and to the point!
Anyway here are my sketches from over the weekend. The list by Irwin even had a title this time, Terrific 2somes.
Number 1 and 2, shoes and socks - my propped up feet as usual in my worn out tennis shoes, even though I have never played tennis. These shoes are very comfortable walking shoes for me. Number 3 and 4, pen and paper - me sketching.
Number 5 and 6, sugar and spice - some crushed red pepper and the sugar jar. Number 7 and 8, coffee and donuts - my usual coffee and rice cake (substitute for donuts, we never have those, I love donuts but am gluten free now).
The coffee cup in the sketch was made by Jesse Baggett. You can see some of her beautiful work on her blog, Red Sky Pottery. She is studying in college at the moment but I’m sure she can find time for a special order.
She is the daughter of Bag Blog, Lou Baggett, that comments on my blog all the time. Lou is a wonderful painter and we have become very good friends through the blogosphere. You can check her art on her website, too. Her blog is always a fun read, too.
And speaking of kids. Larry Castillo, son, is a wonderful photographer. He is available for sports, corporate, wedding photos and more. He lives in San Marcos so is good to go for the central Texas area.

Coffee outside on the porch in the mornings sounds lovely. I usually read through my favorite blogs while I drink my coffee. Sketching would be so much more productive. Maybe tomorrow...
Thanks for links. I did a pastel this last week. It felt good.
Bag Blog, thank you and sketch when you can. I visited your blog and saw the pastel .. just beautiful.
