I sketched out on the porch as usual with the same old equipment. I am in a painting funk and have been most of this past year. I only paint when I have to do so. I am working on this and there will be a breakthrough and I will wonder what happened. I keep sketching as a way to keep my finger in the pie so to speak.
For Scavenger Hunt 288, a couple more sketches. I am the host for Hunt 289 and have my list ready to go. It starts on Sunday, October 28. I try to post late in the evening on the day before so that it will be up for our folks on the other side of the world.
Number 3, bottle. Number 4, jar - I sketched this before, it has the old burned coins. Number 5, from the car - binoculars.z
I ordered some new solvent free oil paints. They are made by M. Graham. The paints use walnut oil instead of linseed oil. This sounds great as linseed oil gives me headaches. Wanda Mumm told me about them when we were in Montana in August. They came about 3 days ago.
I just opened them and there is no strong smell. The starter kit comes with 37 ml. tubes of Azo Yellow, Napthol Red, Ultramarine Bue, Phthalocyanine Green and Titanium White. A good basic palette to start off with. It has a 59 ml. jar of Walnut Oil and Walnut Alkyd Medium.
You can read about M. Graham oils, watercolors, acrylics and goache on their website. They all sound great. Here’s hoping!
Have you used any M. Graham paints? Please comment if you have.
Do you think I will actually put them on a palette and stick a brush in them soon? You will have to come back to find out.

I understand the painting funk. It seems that I have been in one for a while now too. Hang in there.
The new oils look interesting. I've never tried them. Let us know.
Bag Blog, this is my longest funk ever. It will pass ... eventually. Ha. The oils seem neat. I hope to get to them soon. Thanks.
