I did sketch in the hotel for Scavenger Hunt 279 in my 7 x 10 inch Canson travel sketchbook with the Prismacolor Premier 08 marker/pen. Freehand. The 26 items on this list are one word movie titles, so it has been interesting.
Number 5, Chocolat, something chocolaty. A bag of mini Snickers.
As usual I take photos along the way, mostly out the window of the car. Most of the route you have seen many times if you follow my blog regularly.
With the drought we were surprised at how green some areas were and of course how dry in most of the areas.
This scene is between Vaughn and Clines Corners, New Mexico. We could not remember ever seeing green in this area. It is so desolate. Looked pretty last Thursday.
This is Laguna Pueblo between Albuquerque and Grants, our destination. We stopped there and I bought a turquoise necklace from Alberta Dyea. I was looking for earrings, but enjoyed visiting with her, so......
Some pretty mesas with Mount Taylor in the background. Mount Taylor is near Grants so you see we had a ways to go.
These bluffs always look so beautiful. They look different at every time of day.
These black lava rocks, malpais, are near Grants.
This was the sky as we were leaving Grants after a nice lunch with my sister, Barbara, at the golf course in Grants. She has lived there forever and knows everyone so we are meeting and greeting all through lunch.
These rock formations are so interesting, too, from the other side of the road. :)
More of the colorful mesas probably near Laguna on the way back.
See you down the road.

To some people, the NM landscape would seem desolate, but there is something about it that amazes me. And the sky, well, it is always beautiful in NM.
Bag Blog, that is so true. Beautiful skies. Sad that it is such a poor and politically messed up State.
But what can you expect when 80% of the stat is Democrat.
Aw, Gene. That is a big part of it I bet. Ha.
