Last Sketches for Hunt 277

Scavenger Hunt 277 ends today.  I was the host and managed to get 11 sketches done out of 26.  Any sketching is better than none  ...  hopefully.  If I sketch without paying attention it does not help my eye or my practice,  it is just scribbles.  When I pay attention I can work on perspective, lines and hatching. 

I sketched day before yesterday in my studio and today out on the porch.  I used the Prismacolor Premier 08 pen/fine line marker in the 7 x 10 hard cover Canson sketchbook.  I used some colored pencil on the row of toys.  Watercolor is faster, but in a sketchbook it warps the paper which makes it more difficult to sketch on the back with a pen, especially if you want straight lines.   I sketched freehand and as quick as I could and paid a bit of attention. 

Number 6, a row of something - my newest collection of toys.  Gene buys me these for holidays.  The little rabbit girl was on my keyboard on Easter morning.    The little hedgehog on the right is a favorite.  Gene started out buying the what he thought were the ugliest animals that had been overlooked by kids.  These are all pretty darn cute.  Some, like the hedgehog, are so ugly they are cute.

 Number 7, shelf - my pastel shelf.

Number 8, pocket - the pocket on my denim purse or pocketbook as they used to be called.  I wonder why?  I Googled it and found this group of answers.  Wikipedia gave this answer.  None are satisfactory, right?

Number 9, small appliance - the old antique irons on the porch.  The wooden handles burned off on two of them and they look like longhorns to me now in profile.  It must have required a heavy potholder to use the first one with the iron handle.  The other two evidently held coals from the fire.  Bet they fell out of the air holes.  Do you suppose there were some burn holes on the clothes??  Number 10, buttons - little multicolored buttons, sort of beige and brown.  Number 11, sculpture - “Second Effort” a bronze Charlie Force made.  Three of the legs are damaged from the big fire and he is missing the bat and part of that arm.

In this post there is a video showing how fast the wildfire was moving.  Wow!  Be careful out there!!
