Yesterday and today I sketched on the porch for Scavenger Hunt 270. Don’t know if you noticed all the items start with C this time. Hmmm. Anyway it was good to put my feet up and sketch. So nice to have the porch screened in, like an extra room. The mornings have been in the low to mid seventies so it is comfy out there. The evenings have been in the nineties so not great unless there is a breeze. We have a fan, but it is not the same.
Yesterday, Number 3, chair - Gene’s chair on the porch.
Number 4, collection - some of the cups that were re-fired last September. They are singed and have stuff stuck to them, but can’t show that in such a small sketch. You may remember I probably had almost 200 cups. Gene is happy that I haven’t really started collecting more!
This morning I sketched in the brown paper book with the Prismacolor pen. Added a bit of colored pencil. About 20 minutes for both.
Number 6 can - I hadn't noticed until I sketched that the tomato sauce has garlic and basil. Wonder if I have been buying this for a long time and if it always had spices. Hmmm. Number 7, cube - well almost. A box of coasters in plastics and yarn. The best coasters, Gene's Mom used to make them for us and they all burned so I ordered these on Etsy. Cool. And, of course neither can or box is lopsided .. just me!
I also sketched for the Southwest and Western Art forum on wetcanvas.com. They have a sketching thread as well,
Quick Draw Sketch Challenge by the month. I haven’t been doing much western art so decided to do a sketch from Ron’s (rugman on wetcanvas, link below) photos just to let them know I am interested and like hanging out with the artists. Because I sketch from life in the Scavenger Hunts I can’t cross post and do not enjoy sketching from photos as much. It REALLY turns sketching into homework!
This is part of a photo of cows and calves. The cow was black so it was very hard to see where her head separated from her shoulder. Hence my problem with sketching from photos. It was a challenge though, and I had something to post.
For my art link today you might check out Ron Swearingen's blog. He does nice work, a multi talented artist. I really like his pastels ... of course!
** Note added about an hour or so later:
I forgot the link to Ron's blog and a sketch. So sorry. Adding now, I jumped from sketch #4 to #6.
Number 5, chipmunk - no chipmunks in our world so subbed this little rabbit by the bird feeder and a really bad little bird. Hard to see in the grass. Likely excuse, right?
I am an artist that paints in pastels, with some oils, and acrylics. I sketch in pen and ink. As an artist my original paintings are influenced from living in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Bolivia, Peru and Chile, and travels throughout much of Canada and all our fifty States. This is my spot for posting paintings and sketches, to muse mostly about art, life and a little about UT Baseball.

I'm guessing the garlic in the tomato sauce is just a "this time" purchase. You'd notice it otherwise when you opened the can.
"And, of course neither can or box is lopsided .. just me!"
Ha! Made me smile.
Well, Joanna, I had noticed it. I had some extra sauce a week or so ago and put it in the fridge. When I went to use it I noticed some dark spots so tossed it. The new can I opened had the same so I thought they were doing something different but did not investigate. So sad....
You'd *think* you'd notice that it tasted different. Or something. :-)
Joanna, I was using it for the Macaroni Stuff and it has lots of garlic and oregano so ......
