Hunt 266 Sketches and Photos

I managed to get some sketching in for Scavenger Hunt 266.  One on the iPad yesterday with "Brushes" and a couple on the porch this morning in the brown paper sketchbook with a Micron 05 pen.  It is so nice on the porch and there is enough breeze, well, wind to keep the mosquitoes away.

Number 1, good - the peels from a snack.  Some how this doesn't look like the peelings from a tangelo, but that is what it is.  Sigh.....

Number 2, bronze - I sketched "Second Effort" one of the bronzes that sort of came through the fire.  He did stand/run with one foot on the base/ground.  His legs just didn't hold up.  The other two bronzes by Charlie Force, a dear friend, were more or less OK.  A bit charred but they had been fired before.

Number 3, dark - the shadows under the Loblolly pines across the meadow by the lake.

We have been going to the Texas Baseball games.  I haven't posted much about them this year.  I think the photos tend to look alike unless you know the players.  The team is not stellar, they are a young team.  They have some excellent moments.  Last night they played  Texas A&M in College Station.  It is the last time they will play there as Big 12 teams.  The Aggies left the conference and will not be in the Big 12 next year.  Too bad, it was a good rivalry.  Games 2 and 3 of the series are in Austin today and tomorrow.  It will be crowed as always, but especially since it will be the last games in Austin, too.  Fittingly, the Aggies won last night, but the Horns made it exciting.  The Horns had 3 errors and only 4 hits until the top of the ninth.  Aggies were up 6 - 0.  Well, the Horns came back and had 5 runs and left two on base.  Shucks.  Fittingly, the games in Austin should be won by the Longhorns.  Hook 'em Horns!!

After the win over the Kansas Jayhawks the other day.  New information and replay board in the background, all digitalized.

Then the old Chick-fil-A cow through out the first pitch.  Chick-fil-A gave out coupons for some sort of chicken to the crowd.
We went for dinner at Jennie's.  She made Korean Bulgogi, very good!  These are her orchids.  Hope they grow well.

A little lake on the way from Austin home on HWY 71.  I've never been able to get a good photo driving by.  The traffic was backed up there from the MS 150 race so we were actually stopped.  Nice how it is, but way too close to the highway to enjoy it for me.  It is near where we were in the RV and soooooo noisy with trucks and traffic.  I like their shade and chairs on the edge.

Thank you, Joanna. Guess I should really do a "painting" on the iPad.

Jesse has some orchids. I can barely keep any plant alive, so I am awed by orchids.

Bag Blog, I have had two friends that raised beautiful orchids, but they both had rooms dedicated to that with temperature control and all. I look at plants and they wilt immediately.
