Scavenger Hunt 261 ended today. I managed a last sketch this morning. I sketched out on the porch .... nice. I sketched in the brown sketchbook and managed to get it in upside down. It really doesn't matter, just not very organized, right? I sketched with a Micron 05 pen.
Number 4, environment. This is going to me my regular sketching and relaxing environment. : ) We are checking about having it screened in. The mosquitoes were out last night and tonight. Not the perfect environment for me for evening time.
The Austin Pastel Society Annual Juried Members Exhibit reception was held yesterday. I received a Merit Award for my painting, Breakfast View. Very nice indeed. The paintings in the show are great and it always feels good to have a painting chosen for an award. The juror was Dawn Emerson. She has a quick pastel demo on her Studio News page. The APS has the juror come and give a workshop and judge our show. I did not attend the workshop this year. You can see all the paintings and winners on the APS home page here. Nice work, worth a peek. Better in person if you can go by the Corridor of Art, info on the right sidebar.
This is me and my award and ribbon for the landscape, Breakfast View. It is the view out our dining room window.
Part of "my crowd". Jennie, Diane, Tonie and Gene. Joanna came a bit later and took my photo for me. Jennie took some as well.
This is another bit of our view now with water in the eastern most lake. I don't know who the visitors are. Everything looks great right now with the fresh green and flowers.
I painted in acrylics today. Hope to post that tomorrow. I painted the one of the small oak trees above in the fog. I like it and hope you do, too.
I am an artist that paints in pastels, with some oils, and acrylics. I sketch in pen and ink. As an artist my original paintings are influenced from living in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Bolivia, Peru and Chile, and travels throughout much of Canada and all our fifty States. This is my spot for posting paintings and sketches, to muse mostly about art, life and a little about UT Baseball.
