I'm published. Does that make me slightly famous? Probably not, but my painting, Salsa Stuff, was selected to be on the Shop Rite Calendar for 2012. It is featured for May and also on the cover. Is that cool or what? Being selected also came with a check which I used to get my new studio easel. Yay! The easel arrived and is in storage. When it is unpacked I will take photos and review it. I got a metal easel this time. It seemed to be what I was looking for. We shall see.
In the meantime you can see "my" calendar. If you shop at Shop Rite back in the New England area you may pick up a copy. They are giving out about 100,000 of them. Thanks to Carol Brian for her work, assistance and patience making this happen. She said they tried the recipes and they are good and fairly easy to make!
This is the calendar closed and open to May. There are recipes for each month. I like the way it looks.
This is the painting, I hadn't noticed until I put it up here that they flipped it around. "Salsa Stuff" is pastel on Colourfix paper, 12 x 9 inches. A friend in Albuquerque has the original.
I am an artist that paints in pastels, with some oils, and acrylics. I sketch in pen and ink. As an artist my original paintings are influenced from living in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Bolivia, Peru and Chile, and travels throughout much of Canada and all our fifty States. This is my spot for posting paintings and sketches, to muse mostly about art, life and a little about UT Baseball.
