Still Kickin' - Sketches and Photos

We have been doing a lot but I haven't been telling about it.  I did some sketching while doing laundry on Tuesday and some more today.  That is good, especially since I am hosting Scavenger Hunt 242.

These were done in the Utrecht letter size sketchbook that has brown paper with a Prismacolor Premier 05 pen.

 Number 1, laundry detergent

Number 5, thermometer and Number 6 painting on wall.

Number 2, view out any window - the car and Number 3, basket, the shopping cart used for a laundry basket in the RV laundry room.

Number 4, welcome mat or small rug - the bushy mat for the trailer.

Can you see the guy cutting the tree?  He is not cutting the one with green leaves, he is working on a pine tree.

You can see the tree without the top and the top on the ground near the wall.

After some of the trees were down.

The murky pink moss that grows after a fire.  I looked it up, but forgot what it is called.  Very pretty, the pink and black together.

Loading the trees to haul them away.  The downed trees covered the whole right of way of our property.

This is what they are doing with the trees.  Chipping them into mulch.  Mountains of mulch.

A figurine and a piece of the old Singer Sewing machine.

More cups and stuff.  Lots of pottery is not broken, though not useable.  The hand done pots survived better than the Corning Ware.  Interesting.

We are off to fall baseball.  Hook-em Horns!

Jo - I so much admire you and Gene, and your good outlook on this. Looking at each progression with interest is a great way to deal with it. I hate to see all those trees down, but I've read that the ash can be good for new trees to get started.

I can see how the pottery would do better, but who knows what Corning Ware is made of.

I agree with Regina , Jo, you and Gene are handling this disaster so well all things considered.
I am not sure if I could be so well adjusted.

My hugs to you both, love the little sketches by the way, always fun to see what you do,
Rae

Jo,

You and Gene are handling all of this in such a graceful and gracious way. You are showing an amazing amount of style and strength. I really admire you. Thank you for sharing your journey and your lovely art.

I thought I answered this the other night because Gene said to tell Bag Blog that Corning Ware was made of corn. Sigh... Must have gone into space or I didn't hit enter.

Thanks, Regina, Bag Blog, Rae and Judi. We are doing well and it looks like we will get our loan approved soon.

Wow...been a month since I've read your blog. Where does the time go? Anyway, must agree with everyone else. Y'all are great!
