Sketches for Hunt 239 and Note, Photos

Gene did ride his bike and I walked around the little lake and sketched.  I haven't tried standing and sketching in a sketchbook for a while.  Not easy to hold and look.  I did sketch in the large brown paper book so that helped some.  I used a Pilot ball point pen as I didn't want to look for a sketch pen.  These sketches are for Scavenger Hunt 239.

Number 1, in the yard.  There is a selection of animals with the miniature horses, a llama, burros and ducks.

The horses are so cute.  The old stump was taller than the horse!  There is a paint, a palomino and a pale dunn that is almost white.

Number 2, walkway - the path and little bridge at the lake.  Number 3, on your street - the Bastrop sign out front.  We are on the hill just as you come into town.

 The lake and ducks.

The reflections were great this morning.  It was windy later and not so pretty.  There is green grass in the photos, but that is because they water the lawn a bit.  Mostly they water the trees and hope for rain.

The little animals.  Funny that the llama is larger than the horses.

An RV set up permanently.  I cannot imagine living in an RV on purpose.  I suppose it is a lifestyle that is fun for some folks.  Certainly not for us!

Glad you got some sketching done. I'm gonna have to look at the tiny horses. How is it I haven't noticed 'em? I don't think the little lake had even really registered with me.

The "You might also like" link at the end of your post is recommending a post titled, "Drama? Don't have any..." <-- Not no more!

We are keeping friend's horses since the drought has been a problem for those without much land. One of the horses is so small he can go under the hot wire and get in the yard and eat the dog's food. His name is Nacho. The only good thing about him is that he makes me laugh - other than that he seems pretty useless.

Joanna, it was good to sketch. Will try some more today. Used the new camera, too. Much like the old one, so nothing to learn. Not sure if that is good or bad. Need to keep the gray matter working!

Bag Blog, Nacho made me smile, too! Thanks.
