Hunting Sketches for 234

First thing this morning, I sat on the deck and sketched.  It was so beautiful ... and cool.  I had to have a flannel shirt on, can you believe it?  It is still just 60 degrees after the rain this afternoon.

I sketched in the usual sketchbook with the brown paper.  I like it but the camera picks it up as off white and I have to add color.  Interesting, don't you think?  I'm sure the photographers can tell us why it does that.  Goes to show as well, why it is so hard to photograph paintings with all the different colors.  I always have trouble with red and blue.

I sketched with a pen, Prismacolor 05.  I feel that sketching free hand, quickly, will help my painting.  I need to really look at the subject and then get down the descriptive lines surely and quickly.  When painting this practice helps me paint with sure strokes and keep my paintings fresh and not overworked.

Number 8, bottle - a wine bottle in a doggie bag.  Restaurants here in New Mexico provide doggie bags to seal the left over wine so you can carry it home.  That way we are in compliance with the open container law.  We first saw them at the Sunset Grill here in Angel Fire.

Number 9, glass - I sketched the black SUV, trying to show the reflections on the windshield and body of the car.  Number 10, coin.  Number 10, banknote.  I sketched Gene's bank with mostly quarters and a dollar bill.

Like the wine sketch.

Joanna, thanks. You like the sketch and I like the wine. :) I posted a sketch of the doggie bag last year or the year before but couldn't find it to link to. The company sent us some doggie bags to use when the restaurant doesn't have any, remember?

Well done Jo. I really do need to get back to the Skavenger Hunts, they are such good exercises.

Hi Helen, thank you. The Hunts are homework for me, but I feel guilty if I don't take part .. so I just keep at it! Nice to "see" you.
