Today is Father's Day. Happy Father's Day to all! (I posted about this day a few days ago.) Today we plan to eat lunch with Joanna, Jennie and Larry in Austin. It will be good to see them. Gene is reading the paper on the porch. He has always liked having a paper to read in the morning. In Canada when we were far up north, the papers would arrive in the late afternoon. He would buy one and not look at it until he had his coffee the next morning. It is a good way to start your day.
Back to sketching ... I sketched in the brown paper, Ultrecht, sketchbook with a Faber-Castell PITT F pen, freehand.
Number 9, porch lamp and number 10, matches - the matchbox is a small one that is decorated for Christmas. It was on the mantle of the fireplace. Imagine that I didn't put away something from Christmas. It is pretty darn old, only a few matches left in it.
Number 11, from a foreign country - a wood carving from Bolivia. This has a long story to go with it. Perhaps another time. Number 12, view from the front door - substituted the view from the porch. Have I ever mentioned that I am lazy? I just sketch from where ever I am sitting at the time.
Oh, and by the way, the Longhorns lost their first game at the College World Series to Florida, 7 - 4. Sigh.... They will have to go through the losers bracket again and that is not easy. More games to watch, I hope. They will play on Monday against North Carolina. Hook 'em Horns!

When I saw the title of this post I thought you meant the last sketch hunt. Sigh...
Like the wood carving sketch.
And, sadly...the score was 4-8...not 7.
Joanna, fooled you a little. :) That wood carving has a great story.
Wishful thinking on the score and wishing it was the other way round. :(
