Yes, it is Scavenger Hunt 224 already. Hunts last 9 days and I have been sketching since the second or third one. Wow. I just looked and it was the Hunt #2 on July 22, 2006 that I did my first Hunt post. Amazing that I have stuck with this for so long. Who knew? Sketching is somewhat like homework for me. I feel guilty if I don't sketch for the Hunts. So here are a couple from this morning. It was nice and cool this morning.
Number 1, clunk. Our screen door that Gene made makes a clunk when it closes, wood against wood.
Number 2, lamp. I sketched the lamp Gene uses to read with on the porch. It clamps to the rail/window sill with the screen behind it. And for the challenge, I sketched it again with my non dominant hand, left. Pretty shaky with that hand.
I listened and watched the UT Baseball game this morning at 9:00 a.m. They are playing in Oklahoma City at the Big 12 Baseball Tournament. You can watch the games free, including archives of the games and post game interviews. The announcers with the video aren't great, so when Texas plays, I listen on the radio and watch on my computer. The computer video is a second or so behind so it is a little strange as Craig Way says on the radio (1300, The Zone), "That was a strike" and then I see it a bit later. Later I had the other games on in the background so I learned that the Horns will play Oklahoma State tomorrow afternoon. Horns lost the first game to Missouri, the number 8 seed out of 8 (Yuck) and then won over Baylor this morning. Not good to loose the first game as they have to play in the losers bracket and play extra games that way. It is a double elimination tournament. As usual you can read all about it on Joanna's Longhorn Baseball Page and the official UT Baseball page. Some of the games are on Sirius Radio as well, with a link on the Big 12 page.
We have gone to the tournament the last few years as you may remember if you have been following my blog for a long time. This year we decided it was too much of a good thing. From the size of the crowds a lot of the other fans did the same. There were not many folks at the games. Bill Little and Craig Way, the Texas announcers, were talking about it and Bill Little said that it looked like this morning's game was by "invitation only" as so few people were there. :) The Horns need to win tomorrow. Hook 'em Horns!
I am an artist that paints in pastels, with some oils, and acrylics. I sketch in pen and ink. As an artist my original paintings are influenced from living in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Bolivia, Peru and Chile, and travels throughout much of Canada and all our fifty States. This is my spot for posting paintings and sketches, to muse mostly about art, life and a little about UT Baseball.

I think you're stretching things with the door. It makes more of a thunk noise than a clunk noise. ;-p
Heh, heh, Joanna.
