Fish

I'm joining a scavenger hunt on wetcanvas.com, in hopes it inspires me to sketch. A list of 26 things to sketch are listed and the artists sketch or paint each item. They are to be from life, not photos or memories. The first one was a fish. Others are your hand, your keys, something that starts with and E, etc. I couldn't imagine where I would get a fish in our temporary house, and then I remembered that the sinks in the bathrooms have fish painted on the porcelain, it is actually baked on, not added after the fact. Very bright colors. I did the sketch very quickly(about 10 minutes total, sketched with Sharpie and color added with colored pencils) to get started tonight, so it is not very accurate in size and perspective. It is oval, shallow and the fixtures are brass, counter is a beige brown tile. I think this will be fun. You can follow the link to see other artist's ideas and the list. :) More sketches to follow.

We golfed today, it was hot, but cool in the shade. Checked out information at the Visitor's Center. No painting time.
