Pen and Ink, Hunt 222

A new Scavenger Hunt, number 222,  started yesterday.  I decided to have my coffee on the porch and sketch this morning.  It was a balmy 77 degrees out.  Same as in, but more humid.

I sketched in the brown paper sketchbook.  It is by Utrecht and is letter paper size.  Pretty nice paper, although, the Sharpie bled through, remember??  It has a nice hard cover which makes it easy to hold for sketching.  I used the Faber-Castell PITT F pen.  It is about the same as the Micron 05 point.  I like it.

Both of these photos are from one page.  I split the page so that you can see the sketches better than day before yesterday.

(As an aside, I downloaded the new Firefox browser.  It works well with Blogger but not as well with facebook and some other things I do.  Anyway, they moved the tabs for each page above the URL and search box.  I'm pretty sure they were below the tool bars before. Because I am old it is taking me a few days to get used to that!  I'm a little slow at finding the tabs to make my links, etc.  Sigh......  It is tough to get old, isn't it?)

So, back to the sketches:

Number 1, pot - I selected this "half pot" which looks like it is coming out of the wall, if you hang it on a stucco wall, not so much here on the support for the roof and screen on the porch.  :)  Number 2, something from nature - some cactus, rocks and trees in the yard.  Even the cactus looks dry.

Number 3, outside your house - this is back behind the playhouse and shed.  Gene's old bicycle trailer is there.  His brother made it for him.  It works well, but hasn't been used in years.  It is purple to match one of his old bikes.  The little tractor is there under a tarp and the thermometer on the tree, up to almost 80 degrees.  The thermometer tree is loblolly pine and the one next to it is oak.  Hopefully I depicted a little difference in the bark.

I'm off to do some paperwork -- think taxes.  I am behind as always.

**I came back to add my artist for the day.  Have a look at Teresa's blog.  She is amazing, inspirational and a great internet friend.  She painted a primrose in watercolor.   It is so hard to make them look airy and light.  Hers is just beautiful.  You will love it, Joanna!  She has some good instruction posts.  Well worth your visit.  Don't forget to come back by here once in a while!

I like the pot!

Firefox aside: there's a preference to keep the tabs on top that's selected by default. Turn it off and the tabs go back to their old behavior.

Thanks, Joanna. I like pottery so much. Thanks for the Firefox note. I never thought of that since it was new! Sigh ... old as dirt!
