I have been a Sketch Hunt Scavenger since 2006. Wow. I have really enjoyed being a part of the Scavenger Hunts on wetcanvas.com. You can read about my theory and experience here, way back in 2007.
I have not been so regular this year. It is partly the gallery (see tab at top of page) and partly that I feel I don't have time. Which is probably just procrastinating, right.
We are on Hunt 207 at the moment. I failed to post some sketches for Hunt #206, I will put them below. I sketched last night for Hunt 207 while watching a sappy Hallmark movie. I sketched with a Micron 005 pen in a regular sketchbook.
Number 1, keeps you warm - the fireplace and Number 2, keeps you cool - the fan.
Number 3 open, Number 4 closed - a wooden box with a wildflower tile on top a gift from Lea. Number 5, top and Number 6, bottom - my shoe.
For Scavenger Hunt 206, I didn't ever post Number 4, favorite mug - that has to be the one I am using at the time. I have a collection and use my "favorite" every day, rotating the ones I like best. Number 5, usual breakfast - rice cake, cream cheese, peanut butter and raisins (the raisins are substituted with bananas or blueberries when we have them). These were done with a Faber Castell Pitt F pen/marker.
I was also looking at the Art Instruction Blog (used to be Creative Spotlite - e-mail still says that) and found some great learning videos from the Dick Blick site. One I found interesting was doing pastels with shrink film. Fun stuff. Check out both places for some free instruction videos and information. Very good info on both.
My friend, Janice, sent me a link to some space photos by Astronaut Wheelock that you might like to see. I posted it on facebook, but in case you don't fb, here it is again for you. One is of a mountain in South America. Gene thinks it is Mt. Sajama in Bolivia. I agree with him.
I am an artist that paints in pastels, with some oils, and acrylics. I sketch in pen and ink. As an artist my original paintings are influenced from living in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Bolivia, Peru and Chile, and travels throughout much of Canada and all our fifty States. This is my spot for posting paintings and sketches, to muse mostly about art, life and a little about UT Baseball.

Always happy to see you sketching!
Hi, Joanna. You were fast in finding this post. Thanks, I seem to enjoy sketching more, too. :-) Not quite homework these days.
