Hunting for #194

I have been Scavenger Hunting since the summer of 2006.  That doesn't seem possible, does it?  There hasn't been much change in my sketching style that you can see, but I see quite a bit of difference.  I sketch faster, easier and can sketch more acurately (when I focus and try) than I could in the beginning.  One of the best hints I had in sketching was from Susan Carlin.  She told me she sees the end of her pencil like cross hairs and to use the imaginary perpendicular and horizontal lines to line up your objects.  She does wonderful portraits and has perfected lining up eyes, noses, mouths, etc.  Thanks, Susan!

By the way, Susan recently moved to a larger gallery/studio space in La Villita in San Antonio.  It is near her previous location,  but much larger and with great amenities.  Check it out when you visit San Antonio.  Susan is a great artist and good friend.   She gives workshops that are so much fun.  She is very sharing with her information and paints on-line (usually Wednesdays) so you can see her in action.

We have not had internet for a couple of days and I sketched last night and as usual it fit in the current Hunt 194.

Number 1, something you find inside - Gene's backpack for his computer.  This took about 15 minutes with a regular ball point pen, Pilot, in the large letter size sketchbook.

Agree with Bag Blog. Especially when you concentrate. ;-)

Good job on the backpack, Jo. And still in ink!!

Bag Blog, thanks. Sketching has become easier and not so much of a chore. I always feel like it is homework. :)

Joanna, thank you. Now I need a lesson in concentrating. Ha.

Thank you, Regina. I like ink because it is fast, like pastels it is one swipe.

I think your sketches have visibly improved too. The backbpack has that well used look to it.

Joan, thank you. The backpack is a hand me down from Joanna to Gene and is definitely well used!

Teresa, thanks. If I take any longer I get bored and get worse and worse. Ha.

Thanks, Barbara. Appreciate your visit and comments.
