You might ask, Car 54, where are you? (Or maybe you are too young to remember that TV show) I am still alive and kicking. We have either been busy or I have been lazy. We traveled to Alamosa, Colorado, to meet up with our friend (and artist) Gen Force. We played golf in Alamosa and returned to Angel Fire. We played some golf at Escondido, did some sightseeing and of course dined out.
I have some interesting art notes. I will be sitting the
Angel Fire ArtSpace Gallery for Katherine McDermott tomorrow and Wednesday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. She is speaking at an art conference on Wednesday. This should be very interesting and I hope to meet some new artists and visitors, too. If you are in the area of Angel Fire, come on by and say hello. Ah, you can buy some art as well. :)
Gene rode his bicycle 51 miles on the way to Alamosa in practice for his birthday ride. He tries to ride his age every year. This year will be 69. He says, "At 80 or so, my age will be a very long ride, so I am putting miles in the bank for then." This makes his goal to ride 100 miles every year on his birthday. He has made it several times. There have been occasions when he couldn't finish because of rain or mechanical difficulties and being worn out. Ha. That is just too many hours for me. I get tired just following him in the car. I sketch, read, do crossword puzzles and sometimes paint. A long, long day for me and I cannot imagine on the bicycle!

I do remember Car 54 - barely:) You seem pretty busy for someone on vacation. Have fun at the art gallery - no tellin' who you will meet.
We are preparing for the Hottern' Hell Hundred or I should say the 25 miles for me and the 100K for Toby and Jesse. I'd rather be riding in Alamosa. We used to do some grocery shopping there from time to time. The kids loved it because the store packed our groceries with dry ice - the kids would play with it when we got home.
Bag Blog, Gene picked that route as it is the flattest place around here! I think it is around 7,000 ft. so unless the wind is blowing or rain, it should be a good place for him to make the 100 miles. Today he rode 25 up here.
Good luck on the Hottern' Hell. Good for you guys!
Good store to pack in dry ice. Wow.
Really nice photos in this post, Mom!
Joanna, thank you so much. Hugs.
You're accumulating quite a few great photos to paint, Jo - the abandoned lodge at the lake is wonderful - hope you paint that soon!
Hi Regina, I forgot to notice if there is a place to stop so I could paint the lodge plein air. I will check that out. It is about 15 miles there.
