Sketches for Hunt 185 and Photos

I managed a couple of sketches yesterday for Scavenger Hunt 185. I sketched in the large sketchbook with a Micron pen. Just 15 minutes or so per sketch. For the Hunts they appreciate the time, but I usually don't time them, I just guess. I don't usually linger over them. I should be more careful and make it better practice.

Number 5, bucket. I didn't find a bucket so I substituted this small galvanized tub about 16 inches across and high with the rock in it. It is for cigarette smokers, but we added the rock to keep the wobbly plastic table still. No smokers here.

Number 6, my shadow. I started to go down in the yard to sketch this and sat on a chair on the porch and saw this dark shadow on the boards. It was very dark as the sun was so bright. The shadow of my glasses was dark and the light reflected on my "face". Interesting.

We went to the Winery after dinner for wine and music. It is a nice place, sort of an oasis here. :) They have more photos on their site. We drank Blue Teal Cabernet from Deming, New Mexico.

The Black Lake Band

The owners, Lan and Charlotte Slater, Lan plays sax in the band.

Inside Seating

Charlotte's crosses.

It was cool/cold and rainy and this hummer kept sitting on this wheel to stay dry I suppose.

Gene at the bar.

An electric palm tree that twinkles, captured this from a video. So the Winery is an oasis!

Wine and music. Not bad. Well, I'd skip the wine but that's just me. :)

This winery looks like a wonderful place to spend an evening! Love the log cabin construction. Sigh... I'm envious :-)
