Baseball and Photos

It was not the greatest day for the Longhorns. It started out well, though.

The players warming up. All happy and having a good time.

The Big 12 trophy for the regular season win by the Longhorns. Super record of 24 - 3 in conference play. Very amazing!

Trophy accepted by the seniors, Riley Boening, Kyle Lusson and Russell Moldenhauer. Yes!

Kevin Lusson had a nice homerun.

Tim Maitland hit a triple in the 9th, which gave us hope of a rally. It was his first hit in 12 at bats this year. He has been in mainly as a pinch runner. Yay Tim!

Sadly the rally did not materialize and the Horns lost 7 - 3 to Missouri. They were flat. It is so hard to beat a team that you have already beaten 4 times this year. Missouri is ranked 8th in the tournament (8 teams) and Texas ranked first. Shucks....

We went and had some snacks and wine between games. The rain came in buckets with lots of lightening and thunder. The game between Baylor and Kansas State is still going after a long rain delay. I wonder if Oklahoma and Kansas will be played tonight or in the morning. Wow.

We went to the parking lot to wait and see as you can see the field from there. We took a nap and still no start so we left about 6:30 p.m. or so and came to the hotel, had some dinner and here I am at 10:10 p.m. Long day.

From the parking lot down the wet alley.

The water on the field off the tarp as they moved it. (From the parking lot.)

And another shot of the tarp being removed and a big puddle.

I can almost smell the rain!

Joanna, the rain cooled things off a little, too. I should have taken one when we were at the restaurant having the snack. It was really coming down there with lightening. Spooky.
