Ribbon Cutting at Studio and Photo

The ribbon cutting was great. We had many guests with the Chamber and quite a few artists and other friends including Susan and Charlotte from the Crisis Center. A few big surprises. Our friend Nicole and daughter, Briana, came up from San Antonio! I was so pleased to see them. Then Ellie, our baseball neighbor that sits in front of us at the UT Baseball games, drove out from Austin. Wasn't that so nice? Also Tonie and Diane came from Austin, too. It was very special for them to come as Tonie doesn't get out much. Applause all around for them. It is so nice to have friends that support your art.

We had sangria, with or without wine in it. I make sangria with apple cider so everyone can drink some and then those that want wine can add it in. I made carrot cake and gave the recipe for my "give away" items. I haven't had time to order pens or magnets or anything like that. We also served a ham and cheese tray. I made a gluten free chocolate cake for me and brought some Nut Thins for crackers. They are good, made with nuts and rice. A great cracker for me.

A few of the folks that were there for the Ribbon Cutting. I'm in the middle. The visitors signed the ribbon and left it with me. That is a nice idea. Also, Matt, from Best Buy was taking photos and said he will give me a CD by Tuesday, so I will have some nice photos to post then. Gene took a few with his iPhone but I don't have them yet.

I have cake left and sangria so will serve that tomorrow. Bastrop celebrates Yesterfest tomorrow. I will paint out in front of the studio. Most of the activity is on Main Street, so I should have some visitors in the studio/gallery.

I will miss the baseball game tomorrow. I don't miss many. :) Today the Horns tromped the Oklahoma State Cowboys, 14-1. In the last 4 games UT has outscored their opponents 57-3. Wow! You can read about the games on Joanna's Longhorn Baseball Page and on the Official Longhorn Baseball Page.

It would have been so great to be there for the ribbon-cutting ceremony!! Too bad I'm not a lot closer. All the best!!! Save me a sip of sangria...with the wine!

Joan, that would have been great! I didn't have time to sip too much sangria either! I went to straight wine when I got home!
