Juried Exhibition, Austin Pastel Society

We went to the Corridor of Art yesterday and hung the paintings for the

2009 ANNUAL JURIED MEMBER EXHIBITION
ARTIST RECEPTION AND AWARDS CEREMONY

There will be a reception and awards ceremony at:

The Corridor of Art
7th & Lavaca
Austin, TX 78701

Free parking in garage at 8th & Guadalupe

Sunday, March 21, 2010

3:00 - 5:00 p.m.

The reception is open to all. Hope to see you there!

It will be a nice afternoon. In addition to the 50 beautiful pastel paintings, there will be refreshments, a show catalog for sale, a raffle of a print of the best of show last year with money going to the scholarship fund, the winner of the scholarship for this year, Isabel Simpson and one of her paintings and much more. It is a chance to meet the artists and get to know more about the Austin Pastel Society.

These photos aren't great (sorry and I took the paintings at an angle to avoid the glare) as the lights weren't on but it gives you a slight idea of the show. There are these two walls full and a back wall with 6 large paintings as well.

The long Corridor of Art.

Regina Burchett's nocturnal painting of Congress Avenue in Austin with the Capital at the center.

My painting, Hill Country Autumn.

This is so cool Jo! Your painting looks great up on the wall of fine works. I know I've already congratulated you but Congrats again for getting into such a prestigious show!

It's a really exceptional show - I'm glad I'm not a judge. And thank you for posting my painting too!
