Baseball Notes and Photos

I haven't been posting about the fun we are having at UT Baseball games. The first few were pretty chilly! The very first games were with/against the New Mexico Lobos. That is Gene's alma mater and he wore his "red". We gave him a bad time as the Lobos won two of the three games. Ouch!

At the first game of the year, they call all players out on the field for both teams.
The end of the first game.

The Horns have been in a winning mode lately although the hitting hasn't been great. Iowa came to town this weekend and lost all four games, a sweep for Texas. The first three games were close and then UT's bats came alive. I did not go to the Friday game, I had an art event. Really! Next post. :)

I didn't take many photos either. Joanna keeps score on her iPhone and I have been trying to learn so that I can keep score when we go to away games, especially in Oklahoma City for the Big 12 Tournament. That takes more than my full concentration, therefore, not many photos. Sunday the temperature got up to 80 degrees F, beautiful for the game! You can read all about the games on Joanna's Longhorn Baseball Page and see her wonderful photos. Joanna can keep score, take photos, watch the game, visit with neighboring fans and help me. Sigh......

Game 2, Saturday early afternoon, temperature 71 degrees! Texas 3, Iowa 1 First half of a double header, 7 innings.

Game 3, Saturday late afternoon, temperature 73 degrees! Texas 5, Iowa 3 Nine innings.

Game 4, Sunday afternoon, about 80 degrees! Texas 18, Iowa 0. Wow.

A couple of the Iowa players and you have a glimpse of fans in shorts. Posting this just for you northerners that still have snow in your yards!
