Why is it that some things work better in Firefox and some better in Safari? Other apps, too, on my iMac. Firefox works much better for posting on my blog and most of my on-line purchasing, surfing, commenting, etc. However, the newer bloggers seem to be using the drop down comments on Blogger and that format is annoying.
The drop down/embedded comment box doesn't work with my iMac and Firefox browser. I have to go to Safari browser, open the blog and go to comment, then I get the window and write my comment. It says to select profile, so I select "Google Account" (the same as Blogger, right?). I click on "post comment" and get a message that says "Your request could not be processed. Please try again." and I click on post comment again and I get the Google Account window to sign in. (even if I am already signed in for my blog). So I sign in. If I am lucky and type correctly I am taken back to the comment window of the blog I was trying to comment on. I get another window with a word verification spot. I enter that and sometimes get a message that it failed and to try again. I submit again and then it publishes .. finally.
I will tell you that I only go through all that effort on blogs where I really like the artist. I wonder how many comments they loose because people give up. I urge you to change your comments in your settings to "full page" or "Pop up window". The "embedded below post" does not work well for some of us. Surely there are more folks out there with this problem. I know Joanna has the same problem and she knows computers!
I have tried to address this problem to Blogger, to no avail. How can that be that I am a Blogger member and cannot comment easily. Everything else on Blogger is soooo easy. Sigh.........
On a happier note, for my artist blogger today, I will point to Karen Margulis. She has made leaps and bounds in her pastel painting world and also dabbled in oils, acrylics and more. She does a painting a day, teaches and blogs and is an inspiration. She has started a pastel hint a day and this one made me stop and read. I hope you find it interesting, too. You are right, I have found yet another blog to follow!
I am an artist that paints in pastels, with some oils, and acrylics. I sketch in pen and ink. As an artist my original paintings are influenced from living in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Bolivia, Peru and Chile, and travels throughout much of Canada and all our fifty States. This is my spot for posting paintings and sketches, to muse mostly about art, life and a little about UT Baseball.

Jo: I started to use Google Chrome and that seemed to solve a lot of problems with comments. It also has spell check so that is a help.
fishing guy, there are always glitches I guess, but this has been going on for such a long time. It should be fixed by now. Nice to see you. :)
Hi Jo,
Thank you so much for the link to my blog. I am glad you liked the link. It will be fun to share my discoveries.
I also have issues with blogger and my mac. I end up going downstairs to the pc to post sometimes :(
Hi Karen, I find posting on Blogger with Firefox works great and the best for me. Just can't comment on those embedded comment boxes without going to Safari. Slows me down in all the surfing I do. Ha.
Yup, I don't like it either. I'm a PC and I prefer Opera to surf, but I have to switch to InternetExplorer whenever I want to log in...like to comment.
I just have to say I like the popup window - that way I can still see the art/subject that I'm talking about and refer back to it easily without totally stopping and going back to look and then rewriting everything. I feel your pain ;-)
Hi Karen, That is why I like the pop up comment window, too. You can check the photos, etc., and not lose your comment. Thanks!
Karen's pastel work is beautiful...thanks for the link. I had to laugh at your rant...modern technology is so wonderful when it works...when I press the buttons I just pray that it will work!
Joan, I have been following Karen from the Pastel Forum on wetcanvas, I think. So it has been a while. She has done a lot of paintings!
Hey Jo,
I'm so glad you posted about that annoying embedded comment box! It's not only macs that it doesn't work with & I've gotten to the point where I don't even bother to try to comment on blogs that use it.
I'm a FireFox user also & refuse to change browsers just so I can comment on blogs.
I'm sure those bloggers lose lots of comments &, even though I've informed several that many people can't comment, they continue to use the embedded form. I take that as a statement that they don't want all the comments they're losing anyway.
Great rant!
Hi Jan, thanks. I've done the same as well, some don't listen! Ha. Nice to see you around, I haven't been by in ages, went and saw the Bronco Dog, will get my daughter to look. Like our grand-dog.
