Our trip to Magdalena and Peppers will include a very sad part. Marky's wonderful daughter, Wendy Jones, passed away. It was such a shock as she was very young. We will all miss her. Wendy was warm and sharing and fun to be around. She was very instrumental in getting me started at Peppers and taking care of all of us there at the gallery. Her daughter, Lilliana (Lilly), is a delight and Wendy encouraged her talent in art, both painting and acting.
We will go to Wendy's memorial service on Monday in Water Canyon, one of her favorite places. I'm glad we will be able to be there to share the good memories.
Wendy enjoyed the bustle at the gallery especially during Old Timers, so the show will go on. It will not be the same this year. Our sympathy and thoughts are with Marky, Lilly, David and all the family at such a sad time.
I am an artist that paints in pastels, with some oils, and acrylics. I sketch in pen and ink. As an artist my original paintings are influenced from living in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Bolivia, Peru and Chile, and travels throughout much of Canada and all our fifty States. This is my spot for posting paintings and sketches, to muse mostly about art, life and a little about UT Baseball.

I'm sorry to hear about the loss of Wendy. I'm sure that you will remember her often, especially when you are at the gallery and will miss her. Lovely richness to this painting...it has that southwest warmth!
Thanks, Joan. Not a great photo and old to boot. I think Lilly is about 12 now.
Jo I am sorry for your loss. Its great that you have this piece. I love the warmt of it.
It is always sad when someone fairly young dies. I am sorry for your loss and Lilly's.
Thanks Donna and Bag Blog for thinking of me. I'll carry your thoughts with me for Marky and Lilly.
I am so sorry Jo! It is so very, very hard to lose a friend. Just last night I went to the viewing for a friend of ours who lost his battle with cancer. (((Hugs))) You will be in my thoughts and prayers.
Jo I am so very sorry. Thoughts and prayers are with you and Wendy's family.
Jo, I'm so sorry about the loss of your friend! My prayers are with you. (((HUGS)))
Kasie, Rosemary and Valerie... Thank you so much. Kasie, I am sorry for you as well.
I will tell Marky about all the nice thoughts and prayers.
Thinking of you, too.
Oh, Jo, how heartbreaking. So difficult to lose a loved one. My thoughts, prayers go out to Wendy's family.
Thank you, Teresa. I will pass your sympathy on to the family.
