Yep, the Horns won their Super Regional and are off to Omaha to the College World Series! It seemed like a given when we arrived at UFCU Disch-Falk Field. On the way to the game, I mentioned to Gene that the adrenaline needed to be pushed up some way after the flat feel of the game yesterday. Not to worry, the stadium was alive, the crowd was great from the beginning and so were the Horns. I will let you read the nitty gritty on Joanna's Longhorn Baseball Page and the official Longhorn site where they have great photos.
I will share these last photos for this season. We will not be in Omaha, so will rely on TV for our images. The Horns play their first game against So. Missississippi, Sunday June 14, at 6:00 p.m. You can watch on ESPN2.
(Deleted comment about Old Miss .. not the right team, ha.)
(Sorry for the half circle shadow in the photos, my camera is giving out. I ordered a new one, with a case this time, so it won't have such rough treatment. This shadow is from being dropped or from being in my pocket all the time!)
The winning feel was in the air for sure. Even the wall in right field looked gold while Austin Wood was pitching.
These fellows brought a good luck charm. They said it was from Central America. It caught my eye as it looks just like an Ekkeko from Bolivia. Whatever it is, did it help?
Austin has a reputation for being weird. There is a slogan around of "Keep Austin Weird" and it is found in all sorts of places and on t-shirts. The baseball crowd picked it up and changed it a little for the Horns. "Keep Omaha Weird" and "Keep Austin Wood".

I will be watching for the college games on TV. I'm also eating my mustard.
I will watch as many games as I can, too.
Hope the mustard is helping. Works around here... (For others that read this, a teaspoon of mustard seems to help leg cramps, check it out.)
Ummm...that was Ole' Miss in Oxford. Not Southern Miss. Just an fyi. :)
I knew that. My brain is on vacation, today. We talked before. Argh.
