I didn't post about Flag Day, June 14, this year. Shame on me. Teresa, over on Blueberries, Art and Life, wrote a column for her local paper. You will find it interesting and touching. It makes me proud to be an American, from the USA. Thanks, Teresa.
The last time I posted for Flag Day was in 2007. That is a long time. Charlie, our dear friend mentioned in that post, died last year. His birthday is always a reminder of Flag Day. We did talk to Gen and we called Crystal for her birthday. I should have posted. I will try to do better in the future!
I love my flag. I was telling Teresa that when we were in South America I would get a catch in my throat when I would come around the corner toward the Embassy and see Old Glory. The Fourth of July celebrations were so special when we were away from the United States. My eyes get teary when the National Anthem is played, even at the baseball games. I always think of all the great people before us that kept our country free. I just hope all of you realize what a special country we live in and are a part of. God bless America!
