It is Mother's Day in the U. S. A. I hope all you mothers have a great day full of love and children.
This cute (so ugly he's cute) fellow was sitting by my computer when I came downstairs. It was sort of dark in the living room and I thought, "What is that on my desk????" I should have known. Gene always looks for unusual gifts.
And an art not for you from the newspaper this morning:
From Oct. 18 to Dec. 3, 1961, 116,000 people visited New York's Museum of Modern Art before anyone noticed that Henri Matisse's painting "Le Bateau" had been hung upside down. Modernit is supposed to "transgress" standards of the tratitiona, which is why Paul Hinemith, while rehearsing one of hisdissonant orchestral compositions, said to the musicians, "No, no gentlemen -- even though it sounds wrong, it's still not right." (George F. Will's column in the Washington Post)
I am an artist that paints in pastels, with some oils, and acrylics. I sketch in pen and ink. As an artist my original paintings are influenced from living in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Bolivia, Peru and Chile, and travels throughout much of Canada and all our fifty States. This is my spot for posting paintings and sketches, to muse mostly about art, life and a little about UT Baseball.

Happy Mother's Day, Jo! I went back and edited my post to name you one of my Art Mothers. Thank you for your constant encouragement and love.
Thank you, Susan. I am proud of you as my Art Daughter, too! You inspire. Hugs.
Happy Mother's Day, Jo! Take a look at this video from Kris's Journal http://reflectionsbykris.squarespace.com/journal/2009/5/9/a-vision-of-honor.html
Thank you, Bag Blog (Lou) for this link. It means so much on Mother's Day. Hope you had a great day, too. I just had to make a post and link to it as well in case someone didn't see your comment.
Happy Mother's Day. Can't say it to my own mom as she is of a religion that doesn't celebrate.
That upside down picture doesn't make a difference which way it is. It could hand on any of the four sides. lol
Hi there, Jeanne. Thank you, I am happy to be your Art Mom as Susan said to me. :) That abstract art makes no sense to me, one way or the other. Ha.
